Well , Star Wars : The Rise of Skywalkeris somewhat bad . It ’s a fairly disconcerting end to the Skywalker history , as it does many of its primary characters jolly foul . Today , we ’re run short to be plunk a short number deeper into that , and taking a look at ten characters thatStar Wars : Rise of Skywalkerdoes jolly dirty . There ’s obviously a ton to get into , so get ’s dive mightily into this plenty .
Kylo Ren
Nevermind put the mask back on . We do n’t care that destroying your masque was a symbolic representation that you want to move on and make your own fool on the existence in a fashion that you determine for yourself . Put . It . Back . On . That ’s on the nose what this film is telling Kylo , which is sad . Then , the motion picture just ensure Kylo essentially not have any form of arc until decide that he wants to become good . Then , he ’s throw out of the final fight , kisses Rey for no reasonableness at all , and then fades off because Jedi . What on the dot they were going for with Kylo is a mystery , and it does n’t come across at all .
Leia
Look , we all know why Leia ’s development in this film befall the way that it did , but there were ways that this could have been obviate . Every unmarried conversation that she had in the film felt forced around the dialog that they had result of her , and one of her only important moment was when she communicated with Ben through the use of the Force . While that likely would n’t have been how the scene went if Fisher was still active , it was still impactful . Everything else was not . Fisher would have shift this plastic film importantly through handwriting doctoring , someone should have .
Considering that her family allow the squad to utilize CGI to make for Leia to living if necessary , maybe that should have been done . The hike of Skywalkerdoesn’t observe Leia ’s bequest in any befitting path .
Rose
No matter how it is that you feel about Rose Tico ’s persona in anyStar Warsfilm , she was done cheating inRise of the Skywalker .
Rosewas a major musician inThe Last Jedi , and seemed to be primed for a massive spot inTROS , as Rian Johnson set up her character to have an interesting electric arc . alternatively , though , she did n’t . Kelly Marie Tran ’s Rose had a total of76 secondsof screentime in this photographic film , which is perfectly amaze on many unlike levels . JJ Abrams himself haspraised Kelly Marie Tranin the past tense , and say that she would have a immense part to play in this movie , which we experience at this stop is really just a bald-headed - faced lie . This is a ignominy , as Rose could have been a great character in this cinema .
Rey
Even the film ’s central character got treated pretty poorly in this movie . Rey ’s arc that center on her determine kinsfolk out of ally was middling much destroyed in this moving-picture show , because surprise , she did have parents that love her ! Also , she kind of just does n’t care that she ’s a Palpatine ? And then is n’t mad at anyone who knew for not telling her ? And then she weirdly takes up the Skywalker name , which is n’t something that she ’d do ? That ’s not to mention the final battle , and the kiss , all of it . This picture really is a wreck , huh ?
Poe
Surprise ( there sure are a lot of them ) , Poe has an ex-husband - lady friend . That ’s because there can be dead no gay relationship inStar Wars . You know , that actually feature meaning , named fibre . Otherwise they would n’t be able to beedited outof the picture show so easily , duh ! There ’s just no denying that Poe and Finn have some of the secure chemistry in the trilogy , and both of them ( if not just Poe ) tease for fundamentally 90 % of all the pic . A relationship between the two would have just made sense , being a natural advance for the type .
Finn
Do n’t worry , we ’re not done talking about this . Yeah , Finn was done unsporting in a couplet of other ways ( the fact that he never told Rey what he was going to say , no matter how many times it was bring up ) , but let ’s keep speak about his beau .
A throwaway kiss between two grapheme that we love nothing about is not a win for diversity . It ’s thrown in to sham progressiveness . Now , if we ’d actually had a moment between two cardinal character who have gone through a lot together and are in a smear where they realistically could end up as a pair , then that ’s great . Disney just , is n’t quite there yet , apparently .
Lando
Lando is barely in this movie and then is creepy-crawly toward a char that he screw nothing about . Well , that ’s how this film ended up portraying Lando .
In actuality , there was supposed to be a plenty more to Lando ’s character inRise of the Skywalker . He was bet for his girl that was abduct by The First Order . Well , that ’s likelyJannah . all of a sudden , this somewhat creepy-crawly conversation that he has with Jannah is , not at all creepy . But , who needs to keep scenes in movies to tote up linguistic context , ya palpate ?
Maz Kanata
Maz did … nothing in this film ? Maz Kanata used to be a really interesting character that seemed to have a lot of backstory to her that we would discover out about in a late movie . Like , why did she have Luke ’s lightsaber ? Well , it does n’t seem to be this movie that we ’d find out , because Maz is barely even a part of this film . Maybe she ’ll be expanded upon at some point in a later movie or side - story , butRise of the Skywalkerclearly was n’t the time .
General Hux
Teehee I ’m the spy teehee I ’m not alive . That was literally Hux ’s story in this flick . He was an interesting fictitious character that was wholly sidelined except to fill a single plot point in this movie . It like … made sense in the context of the kinship between Kylo Ren and the full general , but it was n’t done in any kind of subtle or interesting way . TROSalso made his death a ended throwaway , a huge blow to such a fundamental character of the trilogy .
Anakin Skywalker
Anakinwas pluck . His ritual killing mean nothing . Rey embodying every single Jedi does not make this better in any single path . Palpatine ’s return was an absolute disaster and should not have happened . And that ’s that on that everybody .
