In romanticistic comedy , we often express mirth at how cheesy and unrealistic these depictions of relationship are , even if wesecretly wishwe could one day discover a romance as over the top and beautiful as thecouples on our screen . Yet every once in a while , read-only storage - coms hail out with a hit that viewers actually tie in to and duo   whose relationships   fans can ponder onto their   own love lives .

It ’s always refreshful to see more relatable depiction of modern duet via   the cock-a-hoop screen . Which movies in this literary genre give   fans unrealistic expectations when it comes to love ? And which romantic comedies are surprisingly naturalistic for the genre ? Keep scan to find out !

UNREALISTIC: PRETTY WOMAN (EDWARD AND VIVIAN)

Everyone enjoy to fantasize about finding a romance as echt as Edward and Vivian ’s relationship in the 1990 read-only memory - com hitPretty Woman . Starring Julia Roberts as a sporting lady and Richard Gere as a billionaire man of affairs , these two end up falling for each other in the most improbable circumstances that would only ever be plausible in the rose - tint world of Hollywood Rom Coms .

As much as we would get laid to think these budgie could live together always in real biography , this seems extremely unrealistic in the material world . Yet hey , love makes you do crazy affair , right ? We are keep our digit crossed that these two are exist happily ever after somewhere , even if it ’s a jolly unrealistic relationship .

REALISTIC: NO STRINGS ATTACHED (EMMA AND ADAM)

No Strings Attached , star Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman , is a utterly realistic wild-eyed comedy written by the Godhead ofNew Girl , Elizabeth Meriwether . In it , there are no over the top love confessions while riding off on a carriage into the sunset , there are no unnecessary extreme makeover view , and there is not a single overused cliche that we ’d ask from this genre .

The picture   simply revolve about around two hoi polloi who settle to be supporter with benefits , yet slowly realize they want something more . Although   fans have   seen this type of movie before , nothing here comes across as forced and the sexual love connection between Emma and Adam sense unquestionable and genuine .

UNREALISTIC: SERENDIPITY (JONATHAN AND SARAH)

This total relationship   between Jonathan and Sarah is   based upon the premise of " fortune " rather than a satisfying base of mutual trust and regard . This is all all right and good for a Disney film written for children , but to make this the underlying theme of an adult read-only storage - com is just irresponsible .

They even call off their own absolutely content relationship with their other partners ( and Jonathan even shout out off his wedding ceremony ) because they believe fortune and circumstances hint they should be together . bear in mind you , they are pretty much complete strangers . If this were to happen in real life where two strangers mystify together simply because of " destiny , " it would probably last for two weeks , tops .

REALISTIC: JUST GO WITH IT (DANNY AND KATHERINE)

Adam Sandler movies are known for being gonzo and unrealistic , but this relationship between Danny and Katherine is surprisingly heartwarming as well as believable . Sandler and Aniston play longtime champion and coworkers who know each other like no one else . They have a passel of respect for each other and their interpersonal chemistry on screen feels very devout .

It helps that Aniston and Sandler are very close friends in real life . Their kinship consists of   two close friends who realize they do n’t want to spend their life with anyone else but each other . It really does n’t get much sweeter than that .

UNREALISTIC: 13 GOING ON 30 (JENNA AND MATT)

Magical naturalism aside , the fact that Jenna and Matty end up together at all just seems a tad too unbelievable to us . Not that we do n’t adore them together or find their kinship to be incredibly endear due to the fact that Matty had loved her all along since childhood ( why else would he build her the Dream House ? ) , but that was one C ago compared to where they are in maturity .

Matty had go on from his childhood crush and was engaged to someone else who he seemed to have a set of respect for . Was he just going to call off his wedding so he could be with his in-between school day compaction that he had n’t let the cat out of the bag to in ages ? The ending was a routine equivocal and suggested they went back in time to when they were 13 and then they got marital years later , but in real life story , we do n’t get 2d chances like they do in the movie .

REALISTIC: OBVIOUS CHILD (DONNA AND MAX)

Obvious Childstarring Jenny Slate is a surprisingly lighthearted romantic drollery about a subject that most would perceive as dark . In the plastic film , Slate plays Donna , a run out pedestal up comedian who has a one nighttime rack with Max ( Jake Lacey ) . She get meaning and is immediately certain that she does n’t want to keep the baby .

Max abide by her side during this nerve-wracking time , and it ’s surd not to take root for these two in the end because they just seem so right together . Instead of the movie terminate in wedlock or a relationship , it ends with the two hang out and watching a movie together . fathom pretty realistic to us .

UNREALISTIC: GREASE (SANDY AND DANNY)

Everything aboutGreaseis unrealistic , with Danny and Sandy ’s relationship being no exclusion . The way Danny do by sandlike throughout the film is pretty fell if we ’re lead to be frank , and even though this was a different time period , it seems unlikely that these two would ever be able to make it as a couple .

They both drastically change their style and personalities in edict to please one another , and although that ’s sweet in hypothesis , it seems a little extraneous and unneeded in real biography . Plus , how many couples do you recognise that wing off into the sundown via cable car in the death ? Probably not many .

REALISTIC: 500 DAYS OF SUMMER (SUMMER AND TOM)

As the narrator put forward at the beginning of the motion picture , this is not a love story . This is an oddly refreshing whimsy for a romantic comedy and there are a lot of moment throughout the film that we discover relatable . Most famous is the fact that Tom and Summer , playact by Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel , do not stop up together in the end .

Even though their love account   seemed like one for the books , this is only because we see their budding romance through the electron lens of Tom who is much more in erotic love with Summer than she is with him . It ’s interesting to see a read-only storage - com where the two leading love interests do n’t stop up mirthfully ever after .

UNREALISTIC: SUPERBAD (JULES AND SETH)

Jules inSuperbadis Seth ’s Dream Girl . Okay , that ’s putting it nicely . The trueness is , Jules is the missy Seth desperately want to get into the bedroom . He makes it his commission to get her inebriated enough at a party so she ’ll agree to sleep with him , and somehow she find out him endearing enough to reckon .

Throughout the movie , Seth is consistently crude and only want to get laid , while Jules is someone who needs something literal in rules of order to get intimate . It ’s unrealistic to cogitate Jules would give him a hazard .

REALISTIC: WHAT IF

What Ifis an adorable finger just movie starring Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan . This movie follows a similar romantic comedy pattern that we have seen many time before yet it is done in a mode that is so original and sweet . It centre around Chantry and Wallace , two people who become best acquaintance despite their attractor for one another .

The thing is , Chantry is in a long condition human relationship already so she and Wallace are destine to just be platonic friends . Can they make the friendship piece of work despite their growing feelings of attraction for one another ? control out the picture show and see for yourself !
