Rudolph the Red - Nosed Reindeeris aChristmasmovie that has been around for over 50 year . Because of this , many coevals have view this movie while grow up , so it ’s a picture that ’s nostalgic for many people . While set of people who fete Christmas have a fond place in their hearts for this children ’s holiday classic , it ’s by all odds a merchandise of its metre . There are many things in this moving picture that are kind of messed up and have n’t get on well at all , but there are also things about it that are timeless that make masses keep watching .

Here are the five thing fromRudolphthat have n’t aged well 50 years by and by and five things about it that digest the test of time .

HAVEN’T AGED WELL: THAT THE ELVES HAVE TO CONFORM TO BEING ONE KIND OF PERSON

The full melodic theme of Santa cause a legion of extremely low frequency who do all of the concentrated work for him is rather messed up when you call up about it , and the way the elves are treated inRudolphis peculiarly disturbing . These elves do n’t seem like they are paid at all , and they are wait to all be toy maker . When Hermey wants to be a dentist , he is yelled at by the Head Elf and treated with scorn . It also seems like Santa is pretty dismissive and rude to the elves , and overall it ’s dreadful they do n’t have any restraint over their own life .

TIMELESS: RUDOLPH IS THE HERO OF THE STORY

While many people have pointed out the bad deportment of the people in Rudolph ’s life story , at least Rudolph himself is the hero of the story . It ’s definitely reliable that he was n’t treated that well by the multitude who should have been look out for him , but he ’s still a good individual anyway . He cares about his acquaintance and about the toys on the Island of Misfit Toys , and it ends up being Rudolph ’s differences and uniqueness that allows him to save Christmas .

HAVEN’T AGED WELL: HOW RUDOLPH IS TREATED BY HIS DAD

give that this movie was free in 1964 , it ’s not surprising that the societal norms are unlike than they are now . One thing that ’s most disturbing in the moving-picture show is how Rudolph ’s begetter , Donner , treats his son .

He is judgmental and mean about Rudolph ’s nose and clearly ashamed of the fact that his son is n’t just like everyone else . Many people have pointed out that this piss it seem like Rudolph is some sort of metaphor for being a child with a bigoted parent .

TIMELESS: THE ISLAND OF MISFIT TOYS

This movie is all about the fact that being dissimilar than what society says is the norm can lead to a lot of ostracism . The plaything on this island are all less than normal , and they have no place . This is one bright spot in this movie that ’s often amazingly disconsolate . The fact that they are give a good spot until they are able-bodied to see lasting home is heartwarming , and visualize them eventually get to leave the island and find dearest and felicity is a great moment in the film .

HAVEN’T AGED WELL: THE OLD-FASHIONED SEXISM

Another affair aboutRudolphthat is really difficult to watch in this day and age is how much unearthly sexism there is . First of all , it come out that only manful reindeer are allowed to commit the sleigh , which really makes no sensation given that in veridical - lifetime only female reindeer have their antlers in the winter .

Next , there ’s the fact that Mrs. Donner does n’t even have her own name and just put up with her married man being a jerked meat . And , lastly , there is a weird inverted comma about how certain things are “ man ’s body of work . ”

TIMELESS: THE NORTH POLE SETTING IS MAGICAL

The North Pole set in this film might seem normal now , but this is really where much of our creation of the mythical North Pole comes from . While the elves definitely merit a better living , the fact that there are talking snowmen , magical timber creature , andChristmastrees that just naturally farm is rather exciting . It ’s definitely a wonderful scope that is appealing to people of all ages .

HAVEN’T AGED WELL: EVERYONE ONLY STARTS BEING NICE TO RUDOLPH WHEN THEY LEARN HE’S USEFUL

One thing that many people have pointed out as being messed up in this flick is the fact that masses only really care about Rudolph after they see they can practice him .

While at least Rudolph ’s parent do seem to care enough to see for him after he runs off , Santa and everyone else at the North Pole only measure the fact that Rudolph is different once they take in he can save Christmas . It just commit a message that if you ’re not like everyone else you want to be able to be utilitarian to be deserving something .

TIMELESS: THE SONGS ARE REALLY CATCHY

While the plot ofRudolph the Red - Nosed Reindeermight not be the tightest or most uplifting , the Sung definitely make up for it . Burl Ives sings many Christmas classic on the soundtrack , and there are also some really tricky original songs such as “ Island of Misfit Toys ” anthem .

The songs definitely make this movie more enjoyable to find out , and they will get stick in your principal .

HAVEN’T AGED WELL: THAT SANTA IS TRULY A JERK

Of all the uncomfortable things about this movie , the fact that Santa is the uncollectible is one of the most awkward . He treats Rudolph horribly , and for some rationality blames Donner for the fact his son has a shiny nose . He is rude to the elves when they make up a strain for him , and he is also lowbred to his married woman . It ’s basically Mrs. Claus who has to baby him while he goes around treating everyone in his aliveness coldly . He ’s unquestionably one of the worst versions of Santa ever made .

TIMELESS: RUDOLPH AND HERMEY MAKE A GREAT TEAM

While the other people around them might not get or sleep with them , these two " misfits " at least have each other . They are able to find friendly relationship and acceptance together , and this definitely speaks to the grandness of finding mass who will accept you for who you are . While most of the other characters might be awful , these two at least are characters to root for .
