Updated by Colby Tortorici April 9th , 2o20 : With   Frozen 2   making its way to Disney+ a bit earlier than we expected due to the impact of COVID-19 , we saw it set to take another face at these movies to determine which of the two is better , and name a clear victor . Keep reading to see who wins .

Better: The Animation

It ’s a given that in the six - year timeframe between the two releases , Frozen 2would look dear than the original flick . While the pilot still take care absolutely beautiful , the sequel pushes the boundaries even further . Stunning bodies of water , Methedrine sculptures , and even Elsa undergo a transformation that look great . There ’s nothing in this movie that looks misfortunate . Everything inFrozen 2is just gorgeous from offset to goal .

Not Better: Originality

The originality of the entireFrozenconcept is n’t really as sweet as it was in the master copy . While the magic spell of the characters is n’t gone at all in their 2nd outing , the theme of the fivesome just does n’t have the same   uniqueness   that they had in their first motion-picture show . Still , this is only a nonaged vexation , as the characters all still provide a ton of amusement that is certainly deserving the ticker .

Better: A Natural Progression

sure enough , while the concept ofFrozen 2isn’t as fresh as the original film is , the story makes sense , overall . Characters feel like they ’re where they should be at this decimal point in their lives . Their motivations feel real . We didn’tnecessarilyneed aFrozen 2 , but this movie testify that it has a rightfield to exist , it is n’t just some shameless cash - catch that exists to print Disney money , which it is still doing either way .

Better: The Soundtrack

permit it Gois utter . She was murdered . By who , you might be ask ? Oh , well that ’s simple . ByInto the Unknown . TheFrozen 2soundtrack is fantastic . Elsa has two grotesque song , Anna clamber more than once , Kristoff finally get his own song ( and it ’s everything you could ever dream of ) , Olaf go in , and the whole thing is fantastic .

While all of the songs are fantastic , the soundtrack also has three pop adaptation of the songs on it , performed by Panic ! at the Disco ,   Kacey Musgraves , and Weezer . All of these renditions are great . The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic from the first to end . It also have some outtakes from the film ! We did not deserve this at all . We do n’t deserve Idina Menzel at all .

Not Better: Anna And Elsa’s Relationship

Spoilers trace for the rest of the article !

The structuring ofFrozen 2keeps Elsa and Anna apart for most of the movie . In all honesty , it makes mother wit narratively , and makes the account very strong . Unfortunately , you ca n’t help but wonder what things would have been like if the news report was a mo dissimilar , and Anna and Elsa catch to work together . Instead , Frozen 2follows inFrozen’sfootsteps , and keeps the sisters on separate journey for the majority of the film . While they do get some good moment between each other , it is a mo disappointing .

Better: Olaf

Of naturally , Olafis killing it left and right in the second film , it ’s what he does considerably . His comedic backup is as great as it ever is . Olaf was one of the high spot of the originalFrozen , and he ’s no unlike in the sequel . He ’s odd , heartwarming , and his song is great ; he ’s got it all for the second time around . Truly the best of the snowman .

Not Better: Supporting Cast

The originalFrozenhad quite a few interesting side characters , such as Hans and all the Weasletown people . Also , Rapunzel was there because why would n’t she be ? These persona bestow to the motion picture . and the side character inFrozen 2are really a non - entity . They really do n’t add up anything to the moving picture in any meaningful fashion , keep for a few interesting moments here and there . Overall , they just moved the plot forwards , and did n’t do anything too exciting for the cinema .

Better: Elsa’s Outfits

THE HAIR . InFrozen 2 , Elsa does the unthinkable , and LETS HER HAIR DOWN ! Yeah , you heard that right field . Everyone has a new wardrobe in the sequel , Anna looks heavy of course . However , Elsa is kill it .

She get an entirely newfangled attire , which is just great . But we have to get back to the hair . It looks absolutely fantastic while it ’s down , and it ’s revive so attractively , sound god . Never has someone ’s hair been so significant , but Elsa ’s truly is .

Not Better: Elsa’s Character

InFrozen 2 , Elsa ’s character does n’t go through any big changes , it ’s almost as if she did n’t acquire anything in the original film . Elsa would still rather take on all challenges herself , alternatively of work with her friends to solve their exit . Elsa instead sends Anna away . Did she really intend that would work ? She should know that her sister is n’t go to sit by while Elsa put herself in peril . Of course , Anna ends up pull through Elsa in the end , gratefully , but Elsa really should have learned a thing or two in the original film about herself , and her sis .

Better: Anna’s Character

Luckily , Anna does see a fair amount of growth inFrozen 2 . Throughout the picture we see her battle with some very sour themes , and the fact that Elsa goes off on her own once again enrage Anna , truly so . She has to save her babe once more , yet , she does n’t hold it against her . She still loves her . Despite the trials that Elsa puts Anna through inFrozen 2 , the new Queen of Arendelle persist .
