However , this does n’t seem to be the casing , as the two have mostly been depicted as a duad following both the New 52 reboot as well as DC Rebirth . Mera even took Aquaman ’s placeon the Justice League after his dead - lived demise inThe Drowned Earthstoryline - and she ’s even been theQueen of Atlantis on more than one juncture .
For whom the wedding bells toll , Arthur ? They do not toll for thee ! It ’s a race to the chapel , as Mera is awake and engage , but who is the stableman , and why is n’t he Arthur ? There is a great secret at work , and Jackson makes a mystifying - ocean find — but not before a deepness - defying battle with Orm ! speak of Ocean Master , he ’s bringing all of Dagon to the marriage ceremony ceremonial , and the Seven Kingdoms will never be the same again !
There ’s plenty of unanswered query surrounding this latest reveal . Is Mera being married volitionally , or more likely , was her paw forced ? Also , how does Orm fit into all this ? In addition to attacking Aqualad , the solicitations also note that he ’s plain inviting all of Dagon to the ceremony ( hopefully they over - rate on hors d’oeuvres ) . Regardless of how this toy out , this offspring could have major implications on Aquaman , Mera and the full kingdom of Atlantis .
Given how the hostler ’s personal identity is hide , it seems likely this is n’t a simple one - and - done obstacle for Arthur and Mera . Since Atlantis has been through a lot over the retiring month , this could have major change to Arthur ’s status quo - and potentially to his relationship with Mera pass forward . Still , since Orm is n’t the one instantly marrying Mera , it seems like there is a far bigger plan here - andone that could potentially be far harder for Aquaman to unknot . All of this will almost undoubtedly come on the heels of whatever Jackson finds - and how it connect to the ongoing game with Mera . Hopefully , Aquaman can object this union before it ’s too late - and before Orm hatches whatever he ’s plan .
