MODOK first appeared inTales of Suspense#93 and # 94 in 1967 . His name is an acronym , standing for " Mechanized Organism design Only For Killing " . Still , MODOK has long remained a fan - favorite character - he ’s currently slated tostar in his own Hulu TV series , voiced by Patton Oswalt . Though MODOK will in all likelihood never shed his villainous root , it would be interesting to see him as a black hoagy , or more probable , an anti - hero .
