A new picture is unveiled ofThe Comeback Trail , the upcoming action comedy film starringRobert DeNiroandZach Braff . It is a remake of the 1982 picture show of the same name , which was direct by Harry Hurwitz . In the original , two inept producers are in peril of losing their company due to debt . In ordination to pay off what they owe , while still piss some cash for themselves , they coax an older puncher ace out of retreat to make a new motion-picture show . But the intentions of the producers are n’t quite what they seem . They design all sorts of grave stunt for the movie , a Western , in the Hope that their insured star will wind up absolutely so that they can collect on the insurance .
The remake looks to follow a largely standardised flight . Max Barber ( DeNiro ) is a manufacturer who owe money to a mob boss . Desperate to get off the hook , Barber repair to policy fraud by casting a moisten up suicidal movie star in a poorly - spell Western with the purpose of kill him during the first days of motion-picture photography . But , much like the original , Barber ’s scheme does n’t quite go the way he imagine . In May , it was reported that Braff had joined the cast as Barber ’s fellow manufacturer Walter Creason . A novel photo shows the two dressed up and all smiling .
