Fright Night

Fright Nighttells the tale of Charley Brewster ( William Ragsdale ) , a teenage horror fan whose quiet suburban existence is turn upside down by the arrival of mysterious Modern neighbour Jerry Dandridge ( Chris Sarandon ) .
Before long , the grounds mounts that Jerry is a lamia . Unfortunately , nobody is inclined to think Charley ’s assertions that his neighbor is a bloodsucker , particularly given his love of the horror genre . Left with nowhere else to wrench , Charley seeks the assistance of Peter Vincent , the emcee of a local television show that plays repugnance films . Vincent is loth to conceive at first , but soon becomes confident , leaving the pair to battle Jerry for the life and soulfulness of Charley ’s girlfriend Amy .

While not as pop as something likeThe ShiningorThe Exorcist , Fright Nightboasts a sizable chase , and in Hollywood , that intend it finally got the remake treatment . In 2011 , aFright Nightremake hit concealment , starringthe late Anton Yelchinas Charlie andColin Farrellas Jerry . Thankfully though , the film did n’t bury to pay tribute to its harbinger .
Fright Night: Chris Sarandon Gets Killed by Colin Farrell’s Jerry Dandridge
TheFright Nightremakechanged a set up from the original . For one , Charley ’s ally " Evil Ed " is the first to discovery Jerry ’s vampiric nature , and Charley is no longer obsessed with repugnance . to boot , Peter Vincent is now a Criss Angel - manner conjuror , and Colin Farrell ’s Jerry is much more outwardly heavy and less charming than Chris Sarandon ’s . Thankfully , the team behind the remaking discover fit to have the two versions of Jerry meet onscreen , at least from a certain point of view .
Late in the film , Farrell ’s Jerry is pursuing a car contain Charley , his girl Amy , and his mom Jane . Jerry is eventually subdued long enough for them to get away , but before that , Sarandon cause a utterly timed cameo as a confused automobilist who accidentally hits the Brewsters ' auto . The car had just ran over Jerry , and upon seeing the vampire lift up the fomite and emerge from underneath , Sarandon ’s graphic symbol tries to do the voguish thing and get the hell out of scheme . An already angry Jerry then walks over to Sarandon , yanks him from his fomite , and brutally bites into his cervix . Once Sarandon ’s motorist is drain of blood , Jerry ’s power is replenished , and he goes back to direct Charley . It ’s a scant fit , but a gravid one , and for lover of the originalFright Night , it ’s pleasing to see Sarandon get to experience the fear of being attacked by a lamia instead of deliver it . As a bonus , Sarandon ’s unnamed character in the remaking is referred to in the credits as but J.D.
