Fright Nightworks so well because the characters feel real , the comedy is literal , and above everything else , it ’s really ascary lamia movie . The film has built quite the reputation since its acquittance and has lead to the release of a sequel and a remake in 2011 , but they all seemed to miss the spirit and comedy that helped make the original film such a success in the first position . Fright Nightchanged in many ways during its product and it ’s potential that the film may have been get other than if Holland stuck with his original script ’s conclusion .

Fright Night’s Original Ending Made Peter Vincent A Vampire

The original ending in Tom Holland’sFright Nightscript for the most part plays out the same until the film ’s final prospect when Charley and Amy are keep an eye on Peter Vincent ’s “ Fright Night ” together . During Vincent ’s program , he turn into a vampire as he taunts the consultation over knowing what a lamia depend like . He also calls out to Charley specifically , which freaks the boy out even more . It ’s deserving pointing out that in this reading , Charley ’s terror as he and Amy watch Peter Vincent ’s program is the final thing that chance and there ’s no coquette where “ Evil Ed ” is still a lamia and spies on Charley and Amy . It seems like the finish where Vincent is a lamia may have been a more effective closer , but the idea of him now being anantagonistto Charley does n’t feel right .

Brewster and Vincent ’s bond is one of the best role of the film and him have to teach how to co - live with him as a vampire could be an interesting angle , but it seems like Holland ’s original ending would have put them at odds in asequel . Holland turnedFright Nightinto a highly collaborative cognitive operation with his actors , which top to many script changes along the path , one of which being this termination once McDowall changed more of Peter Vincent ’s character arc , and did n’t like the angle .

This original end also muddles the importance of Jerry , the head vampire , and throws a muckle more into motion , like Amy ’s vampire status or if there ’s another head vampire out there . The last management where “ Evil Ed ” is the unbelievable resister is n’t much of a pin from Holland ’s original imaginativeness , but it still feels a lilliputian more logical , and gives aFright Nightsequel more room to rise .
