Hereditaryis one of the most universally acclaimed and beloved horror picture ever made . It is one of those rare works that actually show everything that repulsion movies are adequate to of being , and it certainly stir the bar for any repulsion flick that get along after it . But given how much work writer / director Ari Aster put into making the flick the best it could be , it ’s really no surprise that the results were so striking .

Mommy Issues
Although Charlie was ab initio the vessel for Paimon , and it appears that she has been possessed by the ogre since parentage , there are many indications that Peter will be the ultimate home for Paimon , and it seems that Annie can somehow sense this .

Annie also tells him that she never wanted to have him , and although she seems to have a mass of behavioral flare-up in the past , the fact that she attempt to burn Peter live seems to say something .
Special Effects
Like many film maker , director Ari Aster decided that any burden that could be done much would be done practically for the sake of a more naturalistic final production . And one of the quirkier instances of these practical issue is when a slice of deoxyephedrine looks like drawing on it ’s own .
In monastic order to make this effect happen , the producers of the motion-picture show put a attractive feature into a piece of chalk , and then moved another magnet around on the back of the blackboard to get it to move on it ’s own . And apparently execute this was accidentally hard .
A Dedicated Performance
Forthe very striking scenewhere Peter is violently manipulated by Paimon and smashes his cheek into his school desk , doer Alex Wolff really expressed his willingness to burst his own nose for the panorama . Ari Aster understandably decline the offer , and the desk was made with a delicate foam padding .
However , Wolff apparently underestimated his own military posture and overrate the softness of the desk , because when it came time to really take the scene Wolff shoot the desk so voiceless that he dislocated his jaw . The actor had dislocated it before , which presumptively contributed to it hap again in this case .
