Jennifer Lawrence joins the cast of Adam McKay ’s new film , Don’t Look Up . build a name for himself with comedies such asAnchormanandTalladega Nights , McKay has spent the past few year transition to more prestige menu , bring home the bacon an Oscar for 2015’sThe Big Shortand earning three more nominations for 2018’sVice . Looking to build off that success , he ’s putting together his next task , a doomsday comedy calledDon’t Look Up . The film is about two astronomer who go on a media spell to alert the world a meteorite is about to destroy Earth . And now , it ’s total a major star to its mold .
Varietyis reporting Lawrence has sign on on to star inDon’t depend Up , which is schedule to begin product in April . Netflix has the distribution rights and plans to release the movie this year . Lawrence ’s function is currently unknown , but it ’s possible she is playing one of the astronomers . At one point , Lawrence and McKay were planning to work together onElizabeth Holmes biopicBad Blood , though that project never came into fruition .
