A novel chapter has begun forMarvel ’s Thor , the God of Thunder . usurp the throne of Asgard , Thor must now confront a new threat : retirement . First , he became unworthy to wield Mjolnir , becoming Odinsonwhile Jane Foster became the new Thor . Then , he regained his title as Thor , though still exert alternate mallet aside from Mjolnir . Lastly and most recently in theWar of the Realmscrossover result , Thor loses an eyein guild to defeat Malekith , but does become desirable to wield Mjolnir once more , as well as claiming his destiny as the next ruler of Asgard .

King Thor ’s new series will be add up from Donny Cates and Nic Klein . In an interview withCBR , Cates revealed some of the biggest challenge in advance for the young Asgardian King , the biggest one being closing off . It looks as though Cates is piercing to usher in the theme that even though much of Thor ’s great power and power is restoredafterWar of the Realmsand even potentially lucubrate with his new principle , things are n’t all sunshine and rainbow bridges . Much of Thor ’s initial conflict will be national , trying to figure out how to best lead his kingdom . It ’s a young post and territory for the character to develop in , which is always good for a high up - powered theatrical role like the God of Thunder . rock up their external scenarios is essential to creating engaging internal maturation . Whatever do next for King Thor will be sure to test him and his unexampled throne . Will he deal with it like a baron , or will he shinny to handle it like the Avenger he once was ? Time will severalize .
