Niecy Nash : I believe that there are so many reference in it who the great unwashed can distinguish with . We may all know a Sylvia , or we may all know a problematic papa like Louis , or any of those people who are sitting around that dinner mesa , you bang ? suction stop - clacking and paddy whacking , and it was like , " What is going on here ? "

Niecy Nash : Well , I felt like he was very inclined . He have it off exactly what he want . You did n’t show up on the daylight with him looking around and examine to figure it out . He be intimate exactly what he wanted , which was reassuring . And because he ’s work in other part of the industry , he understand how to talk in an player ’s [ spoken language ] , which is also of import . He does n’t get ruffled easily , so no matter what ’s go on he keeps a cool point , as they say in Jamaica . He keeps a cool head .
How does have the same author and director impress the actor ’s performance ?
Niecy Nash : I just imagine that it give it more lucidness . Because sometimes you may have a schism vision ; the writer can see it this way and the director want to do it that way . Now they ’re one and the same . You keep the synergy of telling the story that he need to tell . So , yeah , I liked it .
What do you recall people watching at house are going to take away from the film ?
Niecy Nash : I think one of the major takeaways is believing in the call of your life sure enough , and in doing whatever it takes to walk it out . You have some people who really consider that this world moves on them - regard , Mama - admiration , us - esteem , as opposed to ego - esteem . And Elijah needed to trust something even if nobody else did .
