These objects have been wield by wedge and villain alike , and whilesome have handle to make it to the big CRT screen , there are many more that fans may have never heard of . And one of those artifact has just returned inAmazing Spider - Man # 42 - the Lifeline Tablet .
The Lifeline Tablet , grave with a rule for a blood serum that grants health , youth , and godlike powers is deemed as an aim too powerful for human usance . This blood serum allows the user to reach the full evolutionary potency of their being , in addition to the greening and healing properties . However , while the healing power are permanent – the almighty powers are impermanent . They are temporary because the humans who profit these powers can not properly handle them . Because the object is too brawny for human use ; but there is always a human that wants great power .

After the last baddie , Hammerhead hear to manage its tycoon and achieve divinity , Spider - Man and Doctor Strange relegate the Lifeline Tablet to another property . The heroes thought the threat of the tablet was survive , but it has now devolve to Earth in fragment composition . A public record ’s steward was able-bodied to decipher the location of the fragments and necessitate the scoundrel turn " hero " Boomerang to protect them . Boomerang then asked Spider - Man to help him find them before Mayor Wilson Fisk . The Kingpin was actually the first villain to go after the tablet long ago before it fell into the paw of the mob boss Silvermane . He wanted to employ its powers to turn back the clock and make him young again , however it worked a piffling too well . The pad ’s power did not go well for the mob chief because , again , it is too powerful for humans to use .
The dynamic duo was making respectable progress until they come face to face with Gog , a classic Spider - Man villain who has n’t been seen in years , ever since he too was shun to another dimension - much like the Lifeline pill . See the connection?ASM#42 then proceed on to give a truly sad and tragical backstory that will by all odds deplume on your heartstrings . This tragical taradiddle not only explain the tale of Gog , but also his connection to the Lifeline Tablet and how they both managed to make it back to Earth-616 .
With Gog ’s purpose of protecting the tab , his current fight with Spidey and Boom - y ( Hey , his fans are called Boomers ) may be a misunderstanding . Is there a squad - up in the future ? We will find out inAmazing Spider - Man#43 !
