Halloween IIgoes specially off the track for a Rob Zombie film , let alone aHalloweeninstallment . The movie is unabashedly a Rob Zombie picture , for both better and unsound . The theatrical and original termination toHalloween IIdefinitely makes for one of the film ’s biggest talking points , but not in a good means . Not only do both Loomis andMichael Myersperish , but Laurie Strode ostensibly becomes the " next Michael ” and is jail in a mental creation as she begins to suffer from delusions . It is a very bleak finale , so buff were rouse when the announcement ofHalloween II’sDVD included an alternating ending .
Halloween II’s Alternate Ending Is More Grim And Final
The termination in Zombie ’s Director ’s Cut ofHalloween IIis the same as the original up until the point in time Loomis enter the cabin with Michael and Laurie . At this point , Michael knocks Loomis through the wall of the cabin and stab him to last , but not before he takes off his masquerade and yells out " Die ! " Not only did Zombie unmask Michael and him talk , but he gave him the most pointless single ancestry ever . There may have been riots in the theaters if audiences collectively got to hear Michael ’s first words . The cop go on to execute Michael after his number on Loomis , but then a dazed Laurie goes to pluck up Michael ’s tongue and border on Loomis like she may stab his body , too . Despite Sheriff Brackett ’s objections , the police open up fire on Laurie and kill her , too . She appears to eventually find peace in her final moments and a vision of the institution scene from the original plays over a cover of " Love Hurts " as Laurie ascertain Deborah Myers and the white horse .
Shockingly , this alternating ending is even more terminal than the original one and even though Zombie , at one point , had plans to aim another installing , there ’s really no story left to follow from this new conclusion . Curiously , this ends up being the more optimistic of the two ending . Laurie and Michael partake a real bit of acknowledgment toward the end of their life history . Laurie also convey to go out on comforting image that promise pacification rather than a future tense that ’s either spent in a genial institution or becoming Haddonfield ’s next big threat . It ’s well-to-do to see why this ending was n’t the one that ’s used , but it does more flat out think over the film ’s overall themes . It ’s Zombie ’s prefer of the two endings as well . However , a thirdHalloweenin Zombie ’s canon that turnedLaurie Strodeinto the masked killer would be a ill-conceived , but fascinating experimentation .
