This Neil Diamond classic has been a staple of Red Sox game since 2002 , and therein lie the problem with this aspect . Spenser ’s character is supposed torepresent old Boston .
He is a tough , racy - collar guy rope . The sort of guy who was a Sox fan long before Sweet Caroline was woven into Red Sox lore . This scenery of the ball game does not represent Spenser , the stripe he is in , or the part of town . Why not show something else that more aptly symbolise Boston sports ?
Why Did Hawk End Up In The Hospital?
The final confrontation of the movie is passably simple . It is the good guys against the bad guys simply punching it out . We later happen out that Spenser choose to do his clock time in a harder place to penalize himself . Why did Spenser feel guilty and the need to penalise himself ? Is he a masochist ? The story works if he is remorseful , and it also works if he is not , but the writers should have chosen one and stuck with it .
