However , not everybody is a fan of that outcome . We now take a look at 10 fan theories that would have been unspoiled than what Disney actually gave us .
She’s Just Rey
While nobody buy that Rey was a nobody , not too many people were really displeased about that .

With Disney decide to make Rey the chosen one ( in all but name ) , they could have done a lot worse than giving her the exact same backstory as Anakin Skywalker .
They could have have her anon. parents but explain that she was n’t gestate naturally , instead being born through the Force - just like the protagonist of the saga . Sure , this would have been divisive - but would it really have been any speculative than make her concern to Palpatine ?
Created Via Luke’s Old Hand
Luke Skywalker lost his hand at the end ofThe Empire Strikes Backduring a thrilling affaire d’honneur involving Darth Vader . It was once claimed thatThe Force Awakensoriginally intended to spread out with a scene of the leave out limb falling from outer infinite .

A Kenobi
Obi - Wan Kenobi was a Jedi always loyal to the computer code , meaning that , unlike Anakin Skywalker , he would n’t take a wife or girlfriend while rehearse the ancient religion . However , what ’s to kibosh him doing that after the Empire come up to power ?
Kenobi spent years lie low on Tatooine , and many fans were ghost with the estimate of him having a child and then , years afterwards , a grandchild . It would have lend depth to a unfeignedly iconic Star Wars character - not to mention ramping up excitement for the upcoming TV series about the poor boy .

It would have made sense if , somehow , she was a Skywalker as well . regrettably , the movie entitledThe Rise of Skywalkerwas really a misnomer . It should have been called " The Rise of Palpatine " instead .
