Kylo Ren has been one of the most interesting and fun characters to follow in theStar Warssequel trilogy . Unlike Darth Vader , Kylo Ren has a never-ending call to the light and struggles to fully give himself to the dark side of the force . He grew to become a rooter - preferent villain and was finally redeemed inStar Wars : The Rise of Skywalker .
His journeying to becoming redeemed took a foresightful time but most knew it was bound to happen with all the build - up leading up to him returning to the light .
Kylo Ren Struggles To Kill Han Solo

As a dark shadow is vomit up on the character , Kylo Ren create the choice of mutilate his father to testify himself to his new master , Snoke . What he does n’t know is that this is n’t a step towards becoming more muscular in the dark side . It ’s something that will cause him to struggle with his call to the light .
Lor San Tekka Knows Who Kylo Ren Is
The hatchway scene ofThe Force Awakensis highly memorable and was a sodding way to come out off the new trilogy . After his stormtroopers raid the village , Kylo Ren arrive in style and tries his best to conjure as much of Vader as he possibly can . He speaks to an old valet named Lor San Tekka , asking about a map leading to Luke Skywalker . The quondam man instead find into Kylo ’s head and seems to do it about his past . This clearly anger Kylo Ren , enough for him to dispatch the onetime world . He could have shrugged this off , instead of murder an innocent valet de chambre but he ’s ineffectual to refuse that his past haunt him .
Rey Gets In Kylo Ren’s Head
In the interrogation conniption where Kylo Ren discovers that Rey is force-out - raw , she manage to get into his head and chance one of his fears that eat up away at him . Rey expose that Kylo Ren is scared that he ’ll never be as strong as his grandpa , Darth Vader .
He ’s scared because of his conflict with his call to the light . It makes him very unlike from Darth Vader as he ’s a lot more human than him and has n’t been through even one-half of the thing his granddaddy struggled with that turned him heartless for so many years .
Kylo Kills Snoke To Save Rey
After murdering Snoke and pick out down his guard in an heroic battle with the help of Rey , Kylo offers a chance for Rey to connect him as they rule over the Galax urceolata . Rey declines , as part of his offering is to get the past conk out and not help the people in need . For a moment , Kylo makes himself vulnerable , telling Rey that he wish about her . Ben Solo is starting to come out and had Rey taken his hand , perhaps she would have been able to grow him sooner . This does continue the downfall of Kylo Ren and the route of salvation .

Kylo Ren begins being attached to Rey the 2d he memorise that she ’s been interfering with the First Orders plans . He ’s threatened by her at first but finally develops a connectedness that get stronger as they learn more about each other . They read each other ’s struggle and Rey bring out the true Ben Solo within Kylo Ren . This scene sets up Kylo at his turning point into truly struggling with the light and dark . He does n’t have it off what ’s right and wrong but Rey is the one matter that prepare him sense something .
Rey Sees Kylo Redeemed
After Luke find Rey and Kylo are connecting to each other through the strength , he tell her to leave and gives no account as to why he ’s give up on his former apprentice , Ben Solo . He ’s understandably traumatized by the consequence that cause Ben Solo to turn to the sour side and he ’s hesitating to reveal the truth to Rey .
Rey tell Luke that she saw Kylo Ren deliver and that there ’s still hope as the spark within him has yet to pass off . She ’s not willing to give up on him and decides to give up on Luke instead . WhileThe Last Jedididn’t ransom Kylo , we got to see this finally pay up off inThe Rise of Skywalker .
Kylo Destroys His Mask
Kylo entirely lose it after being roasted by Snoke when he brings up his defeat by Rey , a lady friend who had never held a lightsaber and also him being torn apart after pop his father . He ’s start to agnise that his cryptical concern is coming fruition , he ’s not Darth Vader and may never be . put down his mask is one piece of his darkness demolish , and even though he does repair it inThe Rise of Skywalker , this moment inThe Last Jediis really where Kylo Ren is slowly transition back to Ben Solo .
Maz Predicts Kylo Ren’s Redemption
After experiencing a vision that fills Rey with conflict emotions and an even deeper confusion as to the Sojourner Truth about her past , Maz distinguish Rey that what she seeks on Jakku is run but there ’s still someone that could come back . This could be referring to Luke but it could also be foreshadowing towards Kylo Ren ’s eventual repurchase inThe ascension of Skywalker . It ’s unclear if Maz and Ben Solo ever had any sort of connection but considering she seems to get laid a lilliputian about almost everyone , she unquestionably could have been talking about Kylo Ren .

In the final Kylo Ren scene inThe Last Jedi , we see him find his father , Han Solo ’s dice that were once hang in the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon . At this point , Kylo seems to truly be interview his decisions . He ’s been beat again , this fourth dimension by his former master , Luke Skywalker . He ’s also lost to Rey and the Resistance again and permit them get away after being so close to defeating them once and for all . This moment is a self-aggrandising duty period in his fiber as he ’s truly low . He ’s try on hard to cling onto the glum side , but his call to the light is all he has left . Kylo will never be like Darth Vader and he ’s stuffy to learning his true use is balance the force .
Kylo Couldn’t Kill His Mother
In this emotional scene inThe Last Jedi , Kylo Ren is put in a berth where he has the opportunity to destroy his past for well by kill his mother . He was capable to kill his father . Leia feels the conflict within her son and knows that he still has good and him . She turn out to be right as Kylo Ren hold himself back and is forced to watch as the two other standoff fighters with him destroy the ship his mother is in . Thankfully she survives , but it proves that deep within his conflicted soul , there ’s still short .
