Finn ’s decision to give his life to hopefully destroy the battering ram ( and give the Resistance more prison term ) is admirable , but misguided . At least in the judgment of Rose , who – having previously been shown recede along with the other pilot film – of a sudden appear flying at full speed vertical to Finn , using her slyness to smash his out of the way of life just moments before the arm fires . Is it possible for her to have covered the distance and then some while Finn flew flat - out the diametrical direction ? Of course not . But it turn out that ’s something of a ' key signature move ' for Rose , grant to the extended canon .
