It seems like Marvel’sGuardians of the Galaxyteam members have been changing every other month , and areheaded for another rebootsoon . But before then , they ’ve just added the most unlikely of members to their roster . InGuardians of the Galaxy # 10Kid Magus teams up with Rocket Raccoon , Groot , and Moondragon to confront the Universal Church of Truth . Yes , thatMagus . And THAT Church .
For those unfamiliar with either cosmic power player , Magus is the top-notch vicious alter ego ofAdam Warlock . The Universal Church of Truth used to revere him , and when that torso of believers worship anything , it ’s bad news program for the cosmos . Their church ran on the power of soul , so as you’re able to imagine , that caused them to do some dastardly things . And in a foreign twist of fate , the Modern Magus is joining forces with the Guardians tostopthe Church from erasing Earth ( and who know how many other planets along with it ) . Also , Magus is a child now , because … why not ?
Kid Magus was converted after theInfinity Warsevent , and take on up residence with former members of the Universal Church of Truth . Calling themselves the Order of the Healing Truth , they made it their deputation to make up for the harm that the Church had done . And this include kill Magus . Being as herculean as he is , he destroyed them all with ease , and became the monster they feared he would . This does n’t hold on Rocket , Groot , andMoondragonfrom recruit him to the squad , mainly because they have nowhere else to twist .
It goes without saying that the Universal Church of Truth , now led my Peter Quill ’s Padre J’son , would be more than distracted by the getting even of their former leader . That distraction is something thatRocketis banking on so he can save the eternal rest of the Guardians from the spell of the Church .
When they arrive to confront J’Son and get their team back , Magusemerges from the ship with the Guardians in tow , and does exactly what he was recruited to do . Will Magus help the Guardians rescue their friends ? And will he remain a part of the team ? Perhaps we will see him join back up with the Universal Church of Truth ( which ca n’t be adept ) .
