The Mist
The movie adaptation of Stephen King’sThe Misthas an infamously dark ending , but the volume it ’s base on is actually more hopeful in its conclusion . Out of the dozens of film made based on Stephen King ’s body of work , it ’s honest to say most of them do n’t really come close to replicate the book . This is fine for the most part , as what works on the varlet often does n’t figure out when done visually . One of the movie adaptation that stick closest to its literary opposite number is 2007’sThe Mist , written and directed byFrank Darabont .
Darabont has shown a knack for catch the perfume of Stephen King ’s history , most magnificently with 1994’sThe Shawshank Redemption , a moving-picture show often held up as one of the peachy in cinema story . Darabont also earn acclaim for writing and point 1999’sThe Green Mile . One affair those two King adaptations have in mutual though is that they ’re two of King ’s fairly rare non - horror stories . WithThe Mist , Darabont finally took a snapshot at reproducing a King story build wholly on terror .
