Twilight
The Twilight Sagawas beloved by many and deride by others when it initially came out . Thislittle love affair between a human and a vampirebecame a genuine ethnical juggernaut , despite the fact that critics systematically panned the account book and the films that survey them . However , hindsight is 20/20 .
Twilightwill never beCitizen Kane , but it ’s influence on papa refinement and the popularity of vampire fiction is undeniable . And while there are some scene of the movie that did n’t get on well , there are some elements that amazingly did . Here are 10 things inThe Twilight Sagathat really did age well .
It’s Age Appropriate
Although a lot of people criticizeThe Twilight Sagafor being inordinately chaste in this day and historic period , it ’s actually nice to see a franchise aspire at teenagers that is broody of more than one teenage experience .
Bella and Edward are strange , but they ’re still teenagers ( at least Edward sorting of is ) , so the tier of intimacy that they experience and feel well-fixed with is pretty normal for their long time , and it ’s nice to see a loving relationship that is build on more than just the physical .
It Has A Killer Soundtrack
trend in music can get and go faster than anyone would think possible , but one way in whichTwilightsingled itself out from the rest is that it ’s soundtrack was estimable enough that it still hold in up now , a decade by and by .
It Has A Great Cast
A luck of the older ( comparatively speaking of course ) role player intheTwilightcastwere already pretty accomplished by the time that they start the series , and their talents were already on wide video display for the cosmos .
However a luck of the younger cast fellow member were newcomers , and while the leading actorslike Kristenand Robert went on to do a lot of amazing work , some of the supporting plaster bandage like Anna Kendrick and Christian Serratos went on to do some expectant projects that read off their serious chop too .
It’s Not Gritty
film and television obviously have trends , andTwilightwas really a big trendsetter in it ’s time . It was so democratic in fact , that a portion of the movies that followed it were reactionary against it .
The style du jour for most movies and video is to make matter as dark and granulose as possible , and at this point that mode feels act out . In retrospect , the featheriness and lightness ofTwilightalmost makes it more likeable now than it was then .
It’s Unlike Any Other Vampire Story
One of the fairer criticisms ofThe Twilight Sagais that it ’s not a very vampy vampire picture . Theoretically the Cullens are vampires , but they do n’t deal very much in common with traditional vampire lore , and the narrative is emphatically not a traditional vampire story .
So people who were fans of traditional gothic horror were definitely disappointed inTwilight , but the fact that the tale was so far outside of the norm has provide it to distinguish itself from the ring of vampire narrative that are constantly being told in media .
It’s Shamelessly Girly
Stereotypical femininity is n’t something that is very welcome or appreciated in mainstream medium . There are understandable reason for the push against it in some instance , but a mint of it churn down to muliebrity being looked down upon .
So then , Twilightis actually pretty over-the-top in the sense that it ’s a story from a very stereotypically feminine full stop of opinion , and it ’s not ashamed to be just that . It ’s rare to see a narrative that is just squarely and unabashedly girly .
It’s Shamelessly Campy
There are times whereTwilighttakes itself moderately seriously , and then there are times where it really , really does not . Twilightis a dizzy account that does n’t really pretend to be anything else , and when matter swerve into campiness the film utterly lean into that aspect of it as well .
Watching actors like Michael Sheen and Jamie Campbell Bower manducate the scene like a koala bear trying to rust solid iron is enough to hold anyone , even if they ’re aTwilighthater .
It Doesn’t Look Down On It’s Audience
Anything that is delight by adolescent girls is typically derided by anyone else , and that ’s a pretty unjust stigma that seems to universally apply to almost anything . In most descriptor of media , a teenage female audience is n’t something that anyone especially desire , and often times the consumer of this media are looked down on by those who are creating it .
But the same ca n’t be said forTwilight . It is n’t just a news report that is written for teenage girls , it ’s one that treats them with a seriousness and adulthood that most other movies do n’t .
It’s Pretty Diverse
A few years ago this was n’t the case , but the current state of mainstream media is all about inclusivity . It emphatically should be , and it ’s high time that more view and mass were getting representation in feature photographic film . And distinctly , Twilightwasn’t a series that was designed around the idea of being inclusive .
However , it actually is pretty inclusive . The diversity of the cast and it ’s characters is better than what we see in some film and television today , and they ’re not token characters either .
It Represents Native Americans More Than Any Major Franchise In History
theatrical performance in media has become a real hot push topic in present-day club , and Native Americans are still drastically underrepresented despite the push for more theatrical and inclusion in general .
So then , The Twilight Sagareally stands out in the sense that a immense ratio of it ’s cast is Native American , both in the story itself and in existent life . Their civilization is also a significant facet of the overall floor , which is strange in any film , rent alone one this mainstream .
