Rey returns to the island of Ahch - To inStar Wars : The cost increase of Skywalker , and there are a few possible explanation as to why . The stakes have never been higher than in the last instalment of the Skywalker Saga as the Resistance and the First Order go head to head in the last battle for supremacy . Amidst the looming shadows of troubled past tense and fragile hopes lay out for the futurity , Rey must not only perfect her skills to become a on-key Jedi but also discover the accuracy behind her lineage .
Rey possess a staggering amount of potential , but the core of her storey arc and the miss piece to the puzzle so to speak is who her parent are and , perhaps more pertinently now , where she come from . During a recentStar Wars : The Rise of SkywalkerTV spot , Rey is shown stand on Ahch - To , once in a hooded finis - up and another before the flaming wreckage of Kylo Ren ’s ship . The major planet holds cracking import for her as this is where she found Luke Skywalker and began her training inStars Wars : The Last Jedi . There ’s also the possibility that Rey is give to Ahch - To just as Luke returned to Dagobah after coach with Yoda inStar Wars : Return of The Jedi . Whether it ’s because of Kylo , Luke , a combination of the two or something else entirely , it ’s for now another slice of the puzzler housed with J.J. Abrams ' mystery boxwood , ready to be put together inStar Wars : The raise of Skywalkerand help bring theSkywalker Saga to a satisfying end .
