Longtime lecturer andSpider - Manfans may recognize Bagley ’s name as the artist who create Carnage inAmazing Spider - Man # 361 , and one of the chief creative person behind the 1993 eventMaximum Carnage , which featured an early team - up between the webslinger and Venom in what was perhaps the most celebrated of the Carnage account - arcs . author Donny Cates appears to have been work up toa fitting conclusion in theVenom Islandstory - arc , and an older - school Venom / Carnage meter - down , drawn by the man behind so many of their iconic conflicts , seems to be just what the doctor ordered .

While all seem to be lost at the destruction ofVenom # 23 , with the Venom symbiote look to have been vaporized by a nuclear weapon system , the next issue revealed all this to be a delusion organize by the roughshod Carnage symbiote as it possessed the helpless Eddie . In true throwback fashion , the conclusion ofVenom # 24depictedDylan Brock , now utilizingthe Venom symbiote in the grade of a Tyrannosaurus Rex ( dubbed the " V - Rex " in the editor ’s bank note ) , charging towards his father , now possessed by the Carnage symbiote ( and also missing a hand ) . The original host of Carnage , Cletus Kasady , is dead now , having met his death at the hands of Venom himselfduring 2019’sAbsolute Carnagecrossover , but it appears his symbiote has persevered , and is keening to take his revenge on Eddie . And he just might get his son in the bargain as well .
The stagecoach is set for the conclusion ofVenom Islandto pay homage to the classical story - arc of the ' XC that cemented both characters as the popular , dynamical figures they have become in late years , and project by the artist who did much to endow them with their defining flavour . Bagley ’s dodgy , fluid pencils through the ' 90 in his employment onAmazing Spider - Manand laterin the ' 00s withUltimate Spider - Manprovided much of not only the spritely physicality we associate with the World Wide Web - slinger today . There ’s a certain cartoonish psychology that goes along with much of Bagley ’s work , making the partnership with Cates a serendipitous one , kick in Cates ’s proclivity towards sweep up the more deranged , nightmare - esque side of the Venom . This new battle between the two symbiotes may be their most misrepresented however , as male parent and son will now combat for their animation against each other . Bagley ’s provided some spectacularly gruesome visuals in the past for such a compeer . Could we be in store for another wonderment ?
