The second fan ofThe Flashhave dream of has finally arrived , with the children of Wally West – previously cogitate dead , missing , or write out of existence – exhibit to be awake and well . But as much of a thrill as their counter will be for Wally ’s fans , the write up wall their resurrection looks more poised to end in tragedy , and not a heartfelt reunion .
invest aside the immediate furore ofWally West being put through even more heartbreak , the surprising takings of Iris and Jai West inflash Forward # 2 , there is intelligibly much fans do not yet know ( nor are they mean to at this breaker point ) . For starters , Flash Forwardwas pitched as an opportunity togive Wally his own mission , and a luck to redeem himself for his unvoluntary murders devote duringHeroes in Crisis . And in the first two issues , it seemed to be doing just that , sending Wally up against the corruption spreading through good , good for you worlds , driven from its menage among the Dark Multiverse . ButJai and Irey Westappearing on a deserted domain within that Dark Multiverse raises more question than answer .
The visual aspect of Jai and Irey is truthfully the most obvious , and easily see part of the gadget ( in an issue that seesFlash battle the ten - Men and Avengers , that ’s really saying something . Because it is n’t just their cosmos that seems important , but the fact that they bring up to the last promise their father made them – suggests these may be thereal , actual kidsWally lost . And the fact that they seem to be stranded on the very major planet from which the Dark Multiverse corruption is spreading … dress with massive stone heads of the heroes Wally killed . confederacy hats on , mass .
The mysterious circumstances , location , and surrounding sculptures are all too outlandish to read just yet . With this reveal being dropped in just the second result ofFlash Forward , it becomes even more unclear . Are these the Jai and Iris West that Wally lose totheFlashpointreboot of DC ’s New 52 ? Is their presence on a Dark Multiverse world a gloomy sign of their future ? And even assuming Wally becomes cognisant of their survival of the fittest , and thesereally are his children … does taking them off this planet mean spreading the Multiverse - destroying infection along with them ?
In the look of these closed book , it may seem hard to remain affirmative . But that being enunciate , fearing his minor were drop off is what broke Wally West completely . Their take is the first step towards Wally becoming whole again . Whatever fare next , we would say that ’s certainly progress . But considering the past year or two ofFlashstorylines … possibly readers should still organise themselves for the speculative , just to be safe .
