DiehardFriday the 13thfans would quickly do the math and see Jason is a child in 1977 . His age was n’t exchange for the film . Instead , much like the firstFriday the 13thmovie , Jason is not actually the killer . At least , he is n’t at first . The violent death of Camp Crystal Lake counselors is again a Voorhees class affair . In this installment , the plan was to have Jason ’s father , Elias Voorhees , take the mantel as the masked slasher . The useable script does n’t go into Elias ’ motivation . All that ’s eff is he is the camp ’s park commando that kills five victims before being killed himself byPamela Voorhees , the coterie James Cook and his wife .

Apparently , Elias was chisel on Pamela . Much like in the original timeline , Jason is bullied and purportedly drowns in Crystal Lake , though his dead body is never found . This leads to a reimagining of theFriday the 13thtale where Pamela , now driven insane by brokenheartedness , becomes the killer that terrorizes campers several class later in 1980 . How long this portion of the photographic film goes on is unidentified , but like in the first film , Pamela kills several counselors before being pop by the hero . The last half hour of the script brings back Jason , now 19 age old and wearing a yellow variant of his iconic hockey masque , to kvetch off a traditionalfinal girlsequence with the sole subsister .
The entire Voorhees family would have direct turns acting as the antagonists in the nextFriday the 13thmovie if it had been made . Since it was n’t , Paramount Pictures lost the rights to the franchise . The series is currently tied up in judicial proceeding over the rights , witha verdictexpected in June 2020 . It ’s likely reboot conjecture will begin once again abide by the result .
